Portico Family
How we make our furniture. High-end upholstery combines premium materials such as hardwood frames, natural fillings like horsehair and down feathers, and top-quality fabrics including leather, silk, and heavy linens. Techniques involve hand-tied springs for durability and comfort, meticulous padding to create smooth contours, and precise stitching to ensure both strength and aesthetic appeal. Artisans emphasize traditional methods such as welt cords and decorative tacking, which enhance both form and function, resulting in furniture that is both enduring and visually sophisticated.
8 WAY HAND TIED SPRINGS
All of our pieces are made with high quality hardwood. For Fully upholstered pieces we use 5/4 Alder wood for the frame construction ,For any exposed wood furniture we can use Red and white oak , walnut , ebony, maple and most any other hardwood per request.
Pieces that have any substantial curves or special radius we use both high grade plywood and hardwood .
